offer, refuse, agree, prepare, promise, arrange, attempt, ask, happen, decide, determine, fail, hope, manage, plan, appear, seem, tend, threaten, try, want, learn, …

– offer: sẵn sàng/ đề nghị 
The kids offered to do the dishes.
( Những đứa trẻ đề nghị làm các món ăn)

– refuse: từ chối
He flatly refused to discuss the matter.
(Anh ta thẳng thừng từ chối thảo luận về vấn đề này)

– agree: đồng ý
She agreed to let me go early
(Cô ấy đồng ý để tôi đi sớm)

– promise: hứa
“Promise not to tell anyone!” –  ‘I promise.’
(Hãy hứa đừng nói cho bất cứ ai nhé! – Tôi hứa)

– ask: hỏi -> ask to V1: yêu cầu
I asked to see the manager.
(Tôi yêu cầu gặp người quản lý)

– decide: quyết định
Why did you decide to look for a new job?
(Tại sao bạn quyết định tìm kiếm một công việc mới?)

– manage: quản lý, kiểm soát
We managed to get to the airport in time.
(Chúng tôi đã cố gắng đến sân bay kịp giờ)

– threaten: đe dọa
The bank is threatening to sue him.
(Ngân hàng dọa sẽ kiện anh ta)

– hope: hi vọng
We hope to arrive around two.
(Chúng tôi hy vọng sẽ đến vào khoảng hai giờ)

– determine: xác định, quyết định
They determined to start early.
(Họ xác định xuất phát sớm)
